Ever Changing Modification Styles

changing vehicle modification styles

As the years go by in the world of modifying cars, you can almost see a change in the style of modification.  Sometimes new trends come into effect and sometimes old trends come back. No matter what its always changing and evolving.

I remember years ago the biggest thing was body kits, loud stereos, lighting and absolutely anything custom! We have seen these things phase out through the use of lips and sleeper style parts to keep the cars discrete. Slowly body kits came back! Through some of the best wide body companies around like Varis, Rocket Bunny and Libertywalk.

The world of car enthusiasts has always been separated into two groups. Those that would modify their cars to look and sound exactly the way they needed to, in order to represent and express themselves in a way words can never describe.  There are also those that would build engines, suspension and brake setups to push their cars that much further.

Whether it’s an all motor setup or a boosted setup the feeling of being forced into your seat by something you created is enough to put a smile on any enthusiasts face.  These two groups usually stayed apart as they mainly wanted to be with others who shared the same interests. So what happened to what we used to know? Slowly more styles came to be as they have been integrated from other countries. Stretch and poke became a new style along with wild camber angles and street sweepingly low cars.

The car world yet again has split into groups. More and more these groups would grow and split into many groups of people with there own styles and forms. Now the world of car enthusiast as we know is has become as diverse as the world we know today.

How do I know this to be true? Go to one meet, one large meet you will see every form of car enthusiast in their truest form.

I know what you’re thinking what about the track guys? What about the guys that live for the race track, to crush every apex and lap time they ever had? Believe it or not they are there too. They’re enjoying themselves just being around other enthusiasts and carrying on a conversion about what makes them tick with other people who feel the same. Little by little what we knew to be mini groups of people, that liked one specific style of modification for one specific reason have integrated into one group.

Suddenly the times have changed! The two groups that never really crossed paths have come together and might I be the first to say “its working!” This new group in my opinion is bigger and better then ever.

Now that all of these different ideas and styles have come together it seems that people are trying new things and keeping the automotive culture alive! I myself am like many of you that live to build, modify and create something that makes me smile every time I drive it.  I love the widebody kits, the sleepers, the drift cars the drag cars and of course the all out ballistic street missile and track kings.

As the phases and styles of modification change so will we. We will grow and adapt and do our part to keep the car culture alive.

Till next time keep modifying, keep building and car culture alive!
